Stage 5-1
The first group of enemies here is a trio of 1 clown, 1 elite thug and 1 regular thug. If you’ve bought Drunken Twist at the shop, you can always try out and practice Drunken Twist cancels at them (it’s a very cheap/useful tactic). In case you’re wondering how it’s done, it’s the same as Yes Man Kablaam cancels.
After they’re done (or if you choose to run past them), run past the bridge and a little cutscene will show. The best thing about this part is that you can always ‘cheat’ – do a Typhoon Kick from right behind all 3 enemies’ backs and they should fly into the water. Zing! =P If not, you’ll have to deal with them the normal way. (You can face kick the regular thug into the water if he’s not LV Die)
Once the 3 are down, the villager will reward you with a free roulette – Home Run God.
Stage 5-2
Standing in the distance is your first Chinese thug. He’s non-elite but his regular attacks can be really annoying; some are mid-attacks so you must back flip/side dodge to avoid. When done, turn around the corner to the right (not the stairs). You can enter the door you’ll see but 2 Chinese thugs will join you. If you don’t enter the door, the 2 Chinese thugs will appear when you run past the long alley around the corner. Typhoon Kick (if you have an orb) is an easy way to take out both of them quickly.
After that, break all the objects in this area, both in the room and to the side of the alley, collect any necessary item and proceed up the alley. At the end, you’ll see some stairs to the left where a skinny ass is likely to throw daggers at you. This entire area upstairs is optional, but if you decide to do it, you can find another one of those freebie statues.
In any case, the enemies upstairs are 1 skinny ass, 3 blade ladies and 1 wrestler. The skinny ass is alone on the right side so he shouldn’t be a problem. Against the ladies and wrestler, you can throw the explosive can nearby at them, or try to lure the ladies away from the wrestler. Feel free to unleash godhand if you must but don’t forget to refill as much TP as possible.
Once you’ve cleared the area, run to the other side of this ‘balcony’ where it’s absolutely empty. Just run around for a while and do face kicks or something until the freebie statue emerges. After picking up the item it drops, run back down the stairs where you came from and follow the alley.
There’ll be an empty room with a few crates to the left and 2 crates to the right around the corner. Now that you’re ready (hopefully), run to the end of the alley to meet with 2 Chinese thugs and 1 Chinese elite. If you have an orb, use Typhoon Kick to simply finish the 2 non-elites, then deal with the elite like you would with the typical elite enemy. The Chinese elites mostly do high attacks, but like the regular Chinese thugs he’s also capable of mid-attacks, plus a crotch-poking grab attack. O_o… Lastly, one of these 3 is likely to turn into a demon.
Stage 5-3
Waiting at the far end are 1 elite and non-elite blade lady. The explosive can on the right may look tempting but don’t use it just yet. Deal with them the usual way. Don’t waste your orbs on them unless you have more than one. If you don’t have enough TP, fill it up using the elite and Yes Man Kablaam.
When both are down, knock the bridge over, go back and pick up the explosive can, run past the bridge and throw it at the 5 enemies on the other side. Considering you have one orb, get close before they get up and do a Typhoon Kick. Those who get hit will die instantly, but beware, 1 of these 5 is likely to turn into a demon. If you don’t have any orbs, release godhand (hopefully you have it…).
Now that you’re done with them, keep going forth and you’ll see 1 blade lady and regular thug dancing. From a good distance, taunt the girl over, and then deal with them one by one. Remember to refill as much TP as possible using these two if it isn’t full already.
Stage 5-4
On the boat, run past the villager to the deck and turn on the switch you see. You’ll now be playing an aim-and-shoot mini game. There’re only 2 types of targets – boats and spaceships. Just hit as many of them as possible for gold. (The spaceships give you a lot more gold; 1 spaceship on LV Die gives you 20 000!)
After the mini game, you’ll face 1~5 waves of 1~3 enemies. The higher your enemy level, the more waves you fight. The enemies may seem very overwhelming at first, but don’t worry. Each time you die, the game will exclude 1 wave to make it possible for you to clear them (I think >_>”), even on hard mode.
These enemies will attempt to hurt the villager, so be careful not to let him die. His death will not penalize you much, but he’ll reward you with a convenient strawberry/banana later if you save him.
Boss Fight - Ravel [Stage 5-4 (Part 2)]
In this battle, you’ll be facing the guitarist Ravel and 3-4 regular thugs together. Everything will be made easy so long Ravel is alone, so if you have even just one orb, use Typhoon Kick to get rid of the thugs ASAP. (There’re so many objects on the boat, one of them is likely to drop a card) If not, unleash godhand or deal with them the usual way, which can be hard. (The game will give you one free orb if you die once)
Against Ravel, stay close to him at all times to prevent him from shooting ground projectiles with his guitar, which can be annoying to avoid (side dodge). He behaves much like a regular thug otherwise; only, his attacks are often mid attacks. Considering you upgraded your techniques well enough, a single unleash should take down more than half his life. O_o
Stage 5-5
Break all remaining objects on the boat if you haven’t already. If you’ve saved the villager on board, he should reward you with either a strawberry or banana. Follow the path to an opening where 2 blade ladies (one elite) await in ambush. When they’re finished, follow the path again to another opening with a short flight of steps.
To the left are 1 blade lady and skinny ass. Stand from a distance and taunt the lady over, then deal with the skinny ass when you’re done. On the right side where there’re some crates is another freebie statue spot; circle that area or something until it emerges.
Now, keep following the path up another flight of stairs to face another elite blade lady. The area is narrow and tight so be extra careful of her grab attacks (make sure you have space behind to back flip). Also, remember to use Yes Man Kablaam-cancels to refill as much TP as possible.
After she’s down, pick up the key nearby and drop by the Little Devil next to it.
For a start, this challenge may seem very intimidating. You have two and a half minutes to take out ~8 very annoying enemies. Good news is, you’re standing on a battlefield where the edge is open, which means you can send them flying off the edge with full health and they’ll die anyway. =D
There’re a few ways you can do this. If you’re not on LV Die, you can easily face kick all the non-elites off the edge. They’re all annoying Chinese thugs though, so it’s probably easier said than done. Another way would be to do Typhoon Kick. The best and easiest way would be to unleash godhand and spam any launch technique (e.g. Reverse Hell Kick) and they’ll be dead in 15 seconds. =P
All right, now that you’ve done everything here, run back down the stairs to the open area and 3 Chinese thugs (one elite) will appear. If for some reason you’re cornered, you can always try Low Roundhouse Kick counters (do as they attack) to make them fall over, then you can run past them for a breather. And as always, Typhoon Kick will kill the 2 non-elites instantly.
The elite will drop the 2nd key you need to enter the gate that was locked.
Stage 5-6
In the distance are 2 thugs (one elite) beating up a villager. They’re too close to each other so you can’t taunt just one over, but if your enemy level isn’t LV Die, you can always face kick the regular thug away. Personally, I find Low Roundhouse Kick counters really helpful here. When the elite is left alone, use him to build up your TP if it’s not already.
When you’re done, notice the beat-the-door nearby. Your objective is to get past that door but as you approach it, you’ll see that there’re 2 skinny asses upstairs who won’t stop interrupting you. Also, if you get near the arch they’re standing on, 1 regular thug and blade lady will reveal themselves from behind. It’s a really tight and ugly spot there so you might want to run back to where the villager is to fight the two.
After them, run past the path (beneath the skinny asses) to the end and quickly turn to the right where there’s a flight of steps. I’m sure you’d have noticed the thug hiding around the corner by now, so fight him on the stairs to avoid the flying daggers from the skinny asses. If your TP isn’t enough for one unleash, use this thug and spam Yes Man Kablaam to refill it.
Now, run up the stairs and stop when you see the first enemy, a skinny ass (also notice that there’re quite a few enemies altogether). From a good distance and angle, taunt him over. Even if another thug follows him, fight them along the stairs. When both are done, run up to the stairs, unleash godhand and kill as many remaining enemies as possible, especially the non-elites first if possible. The rest should be easy.
With all the enemies gone, you can now open the beat-the-door in peace. Remember to refill your TP using Yes Man Kablaam against the door. Past the door at the end are 1 regular thug and blade lady. You can taunt the lady over from a good angle; you know the rest, just don’t unleash godhand. Don’t forget to climb up the ladder nearby for some crates. One of them will drop a banana.
Boss Fight - Ravel & Debussy
And so the ultimately random musicians are back. You know Ravel already, and he’s still no different from before. Debussy (the drummer) is the annoying one thanks to his low attacks and flying projectiles, but I still suggest taking out Ravel first cause of his ground projectiles.
The moment battle begins, taunt them over or run up to them and unleash godhand on Ravel. A single unleash should be enough to dizzy him, but you can always pummel him after your unleash ends to help refill your TP a little. By now he should have about half his life left. Alternatively, if you have 2 orbs, you can line them both up and do a Home Run God on both of them at once for maximum damage.
Notice how Ravel is more enthusiastic about chasing after you. If you feel the need to separate them, you can try running away (away from Debussy) and get Ravel to run after you. Debussy doesn’t chase after you as much, so you can use the time Ravel is alone to take down his life bit by bit. Be careful though, getting too far from Ravel might provoke him to do his ground projectile attack.
There’re objects laid around the field (plant thingies); you can always use them to throw but do that only when they’re a good distance away. Again, be careful though if Ravel and Debussy perform their projectile attacks. To avoid that, you can hide behind the fountain in the center.
Against Debussy, stay close to him at all times (he is less likely to do his projectile attacks) and break as many of his guards as possible to spam Yes Man Kablaam for TP. If you get guard broken, make it a habit to back flip instead of duck to avoid his low/mid attacks.
After both are down, you can either choose to go to the next area, or fight an additional optional boss by checking Ravel’s body. This boss has no name, and he’s basically another Ravel. Since you’re dealing with him one on one, he should be easy so long you stay close to him at all times.
Stage 5-8
Your goal here is to push that giant ball up the slope. Equip a launch technique (spare Barrel Roll Kick) and spam it until the ball gets pushed to the end. All you have to watch out for is when the slope gets electrified. If for some reason you don’t have any good launch technique (I experienced this once), you’ll have to tediously roundhouse-cancel the ball up slowly. You might have to sacrifice some life along the way.
Anyway, when the ball reaches the end, it’ll reveal a dizzied clown. Stinger him if you can get to him in time. Also, try to refill as much TP as possible using him.
Boss Fight - Elvis
Mamamiya! This is more than likely to be one hell of a battle for first timers. Elvis in demon form is one true asshole in its entirety. He has a number of fast attacks and punches that can dizzy you really easily. His punches are duck-able but his combos are not entirely high attacks so you’ll have to be alert enough to back flip away as well. You’ll also have to back flip away from his flame, stomp, and jump & crash attacks.
Remember how hungry Elvis always is? This time, he’s so hungry he has to eat you in battle. You can either back flip or side dodge away in time to avoid, but don’t back flip into a wall. Elvis also fires fireballs from time to time; just side dodge in time. You can also use the little time after dodging to taunt him considering he’s a distance away.
One last attack he does that is 90% ‘impossible’ to dodge is his roll attack. Theoretically, you simply side dodge/back flip away in time. Practically, the timing can be very hard to grasp. One way in which I sometimes manage to stop him from doing that move is to throw crates at him. If he happens to get hit while in his stance, he’ll get stunned for a bit and stop.
Now that you know how to defend, let's switch to offense. You can always taunt him from a distance from time to time for TP and spam the usual Chain Yanker + Yes Man Kablaam tactic but if that’s not possible/not enough, you’ll have to face him fairly fist to fist for a bit. Just keep your reflexes on the alert and punch away until he shows signs of attack, then duck or back flip depending on his move. His attacks are usually really fast, so hopefully you’ll get the timing after a little getting used to.
When Elvis gets dizzy, you can get in only 2 Yes Man Kablaams before you must quickly hit O for pummel. He recovers from dizziness really quick so if you happen to miss your pummel, use the time he gets up to get in one more YMK, then back flip away to safety.
